MbE Bespoke: Max from the Chiltern Firehouse
The downstairs Lounge strikes again!
Max Harrison, maître d' of the Chiltern Firehouse, uses our Bespoke service by MbE.
We always see Max walking up and down Chiltern Street looking neatly dressed and he'd come in store from time to time to pick up seasonal ties for his many outfits, however this time round he wanted something extra special to grace the grounds of the Firehouse for the summer...and boy did we provide!
Lucky for us, having Max located a stone throw away from us five days a week allowed this suit to be made in half that time.
To get the ball rolling, we sat down with Max in the lounge and went through fabric swatches and spoke about clothes and tailoring to get an idea of what kind of suit he wanted. Whilst having a mutual admiration for British tailoring, there were added notes of American influence from the likes of Ralph Lauren in Max's vision of how he wanted his new workhorse to look.
After taking his measurements, Max selected a 100% Linen from Harrisons of Edinburgh in an amazing ochre colour with a mint silk lining from Bernstein and Banleys.
Being a bespoke suit, the style of the suit had to be something classic and timeless whilst still retaining a contemporary edge.
Max went for a single breasted jacket with an 'American roll' three button on the turn with angled flap side pockets with side vents. For the bottom half, he chose a high waisted British two pleated trouser with forward slant pockets, hip straps and two inch turn ups.
The final outcome looks incredible and now known by his colleagues and clients simply as "the suit" we look forward to Max welcoming us at the Firehouse wearing this beauty over the coming months!
