Navy Giorgio Coat

The origins of the Giorgio Coat (and the bigger brother "The Chiltern Coat") came to us from the past, and nicely enough, our past. 

A customer, and long standing one, came to us last winter for a repair on an overcoat; the lining was a little tattered, and sleeve lining needed reattaching, a few loose threads... but not bad for a coat purchased from Grey Flannel in the 1980's. 

The design, to our sensibilities, was timeless... Little in the way of heft or construction, the coat was soft and draped beautifully when worn; the length long and elegant. In short, a coat we wanted. 

We kindly asked to borrow the coat, and went about finding the right factory to do justice to this garment and after a few samples and sourcing the right fabric we are proud to bring this coat back from the 80s to our Autumn / Winter collection for 2025. 

The Girogio is made in wool/cashmere blend and a perfect weight of cloth for as city coat. The Giorgio, when worn, is a joy, which feel more like an outdoor robe than a structured coat, with flow and fluidity when in movement. 

The design itself we altered very little. The low slung notch lapel, soft, slightly oversized shoulder profile, low-buttoning and patch-pockets; we just leaned into the details, accentuating elements subtly elevating them. The final result is our "hero" piece for this season and the backbone of our collection.
